You know how the country is pretty much obsessed right now with all things race-related, and especially things about black people and white people, and especially when crime or injustice is involved, and especially when said crime or injustice is particularly senseless and heinous?
It's weird how nobody heard about this one.
That young lady in the middle of the picture above is Laura Ashley Anderson, 21. To the left is her stepdad, Nick Wall, 45. He was driving to her new place to bring her a spare set of keys because she had locked herself out. She had just bought the home; she was expecting to start her life there and was just about to start college and pursue a career in teaching like her mother.
As her stepdad pulled into her driveway, he was rear-ended by the guy on the right in the picture above, identified as Ty Sheem Walters, 23. It was a "minor fender bender."
Walters then got out of his car and shot Nick Wall in the head, killing him. He then shot the young lady, Laura Anderson, in the head, killing her. He also shot a third person, who survived and was walking around in shock when police arrived.
Ty Sheem Walters was caught and charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder.
This all happened on Monday in South Carolina, four days ago, in a race-obsessed country. Isn't it weird that nobody heard about it?
It seems to me, if one single variable in the story were changed, it would be a really, really, really big deal.
