When Saniah Poindexter from Michigan learned that she was pregnant, she was elated. Her pregnancy seemed to be progressing just fine, when one day the expectant mother was thrown a terrifying curveball.

After complaining about feeling ill with a bad stomach ache and a high temperature, Saniah's mom convinced her to go to the hospital – where she discovered that she was in active labor at 26 weeks. Her baby was coming 14 weeks early.

Upon delivering baby Kayden, he weighed only 1 lb 11 oz. The doctor warned the worried mom that her son "would not survive."

But guess what?

Against the odds and over the course of 65 days, Kayden steadily grew stronger and healthier in the NICU until the day Saniah had been nervously awaiting finally arrived: the baby boy was healthy enough to be discharged and sent home at 4 lbs 8 oz.

Now Saniah says that her son is "thriving" and can already roll over, even though Kayden should technically be considered one month old due to his super-premature birth. Saniah is convinced that her son is a miracle baby.

Life is precious. Babies are precious. God is real. Miracles happen.
