Rhode Island elementary school tells children to be inclusive on Valentine's Day and avoid cards that portray only white characters

Okay, I want to start off by giving you this Rhode Island prep schools mission statement, because I think it's really important here.

Blackstone Valley Prep's mission is to prepare every scholar for success in college and the world beyond.

Yeah, and apparently this is how they prepare their young scholars for the real world:

Also, consider talking to your child about avoiding cards that portray only White human characters. Representation matters and our students of color also deserve to see themselves in some of the cards they receive.

Got that, kiddos?

We don't wanna see too many of them dirty whites on the Valentine's cards this year!

Seriously, they sent this note to FIRST GRADERS!!

And did you catch their super inclusive name for Valentine's Day?

PRIDE +1 Love Day?

Like, what does that even mean?!?!

Scholars may bring in PRIDE +1 Love Day cards on February 14th. If your child would like to bring cards for classmates...please bring a card for every other child in their class...Please remember that Valentine's Day is a celebration about love and should be inclusive of all types of families, including LGBTQA.

So you want me to look for a card with a lesbian couple on it then, or...?

Come on!

Blackstone Valley Prep, if this is how you're preparing your students for success in college and the world beyond, then I don't think I want to be part of college, the world beyond, or your sorry excuse for a prep school.

Goodness, why do wokies make everything about race and sexuality?

It's too much.
