Would-Be Debate Moderator Steve Scully Admits He Made Up Twitter "Hack" Claim, Now Suspended by C-SPAN ๐Ÿ‘€

I said it last week, "this story seems to be the gift that keeps on giving" and that was a prophecy fulfilled.

In case you're just joining us, the debate moderator for the now-canceled second presidential debate first entered the public consciousness when the choice was criticized because Scully used to be a Joe Biden intern before joining C-SPAN.

Scully responded to the criticism, or considered to, in the worst possible way when he publicly tweeted what was almost certainly meant to be a DM to a #NeverTrump stalwart, Anthony Scaramucci. After this incident, he claimed that his twitter account was hacked (the third time he has made such an excuse).

Well, surprise surprise, it turns out that Scully was not hacked after all!

Yesterday, Scully admitted to his employer, C-SPAN, that he had made the story up to deflect criticism.

Here's the statement that C-SPAN has released today.

Oh, poor pitiful Steve! He was scared and confused so he accidentally exposed himself for the partisan hack he really is. I feel so bad for him.

C-SPAN has placed him on administrative leave, a slap on the wrist, hoping he can return to work soon.

I want to say that I was the first to call this, but maybe that belongs to someone else. Yes, the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has had his watchful eye on the story from the start.

Okay, maybe Trump does have good instincts, "being the first to know." Nobody could have seen this coming. Except, of course, literally everyone. But when he's right, he's right. The mainstream media is definitely biased against the president but these debates and the debate commission show how totally unfair the process is.

There's only one solution. Joe Rogan, do your thing!
