Ah yes, the rich woke college kids are at it again.

At this elite NYC university called The New School, students are occupying campus and have issued a 16-point list of demands which include an A grade for everyone, better cafeteria food, and free tampons and hypodermic needles.

For real. Here's their full list of demands:

Fall 2022 Semester Grading Policy

We demand that every student receives a final course grade of A as well as the removal of I/Z grades for the Fall 2022 semester. Attendance shall have no bearing on course grade. Grading shall not be conducted by anyone other than the official course instructor or teaching assistant, with no ‘Temporary Progress Reviewer' allowed to grade students.

Extension of Internal Application Deadlines

We demand all deadlines for internal applications at The New School, including but not limited to grants, mini-grants, scholarships, and fellowships, occurring during the strike organized by ACT-UAW Local 7902, be extended by the total number of strike days after said strike ends. These deadlines include those to formally accept offers once their applications were selected/accepted.

Tuition Refund

We demand all students be refunded for the loss of instructional time due to the strike. This tuition refund will be proportional to the duration of the semester during which the strike is in effect.

Tuition & Fee Freeze

We demand a tuition freeze through academic years 2023-24 to 2027-28 and for there to be no fee additions or increases in the event of revised compensation for part-time faculty.

Protection of International Students Against Academic/Enrollment Retaliation

We demand no international students be academically penalized or threatened by The New School for participating in labor dispute-related activities or other social justice activities.

The New School must act in accordance with Federal civil rights law, as enforced by the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). This includes protection from academic Retaliation Discrimination by institutions under the purview of Department of Education. Additionally, existing agencies, including but not limited to International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) that support international students will be properly staffed and funded according to student need.

Suspension of Holds and Cancellation of Penalties

We demand a full suspension of all holds and cancellation of penalties placed on student accounts since the commencement of the strike. All return dates for rented equipment and library material will be extended to two weeks after the beginning of the Spring 2023 semester or the end of the strike, whichever comes later.

This includes: cancellation of all penalties and fines incurred during the strike period for failure to return equipment, library material, etc., suspension of all holds on student accounts.

Financial Transparency

We demand records of all financial decisions, past, present, and future be made public and easily accessible. Financial records should be as granularly detailed as is legally possible and made available within a reasonable timeframe, as defined by the non-administrative TNS community members.

Pay Ratio

We demand the maximum gross salary at the New School be in a proportion, defined by the non-administrative TNS community, to the base pay of university workers. Any increases in the gross salaries of the Board, Provost and President can only occur with a proportional increase in all university employee pay.

President's House

We demand the President's townhouse be treated as a communal property of The New School and used for purposes determined by the non-administrative TNS community.

Increased Protections for Students Who Fall Short of Course Requirements due to Health-related Concerns.

We demand a reformed leave system that does not penalize students for class time and assignments missed because of health concerns or parental commitments. This new system must include alternate solutions for those students including but not limited to; asynchronous options, extended deadlines, and alternate assignments in order to obtain full credit.

Meeting Accessibility

We demand all meetings between student representatives and administration be available for viewing and participation by the entire student body.

Course Material Accessibility

We demand all materials and resources necessary to complete and succeed in course objectives will be made available by the university. Materials and resources required by course objectives will either be provided or all students will be compensated for costs incurred.

Affordability and Accessibility of Essential Resources

We demand The New School Cafeterias and Food Pantries be reconstituted to better serve The New School community, including but not limited to: an increase in pantry locations and hours of operation, increased staffing, higher quality food, and accessible pricing for all school dining services.

We also demand increased and free access to essential medical supplies, including but not limited to: tampons, pads, and other menstrual products, sharps containers and hypodermic needles, Covid tests, and first-aid supplies.

Resignation

We demand the resignations of President Dwight McBride, Provost Renee T. White, and the Vice President of Business and Operations Tokumbo Shobowale.

Leadership by Vote

We demand all future members of the President's Leadership Team be elected by a majority vote that is open to the non-administrative TNS community, who retain the right to recall that appointment.

Board of Trustees

We demand the Board of Trustees be disbanded and a participatory process, as defined by the non-administrative TNS community, be initiated for the administration of the School, including the budget. Members of this deliberative body can be reviewed and/or recalled by the non-administrative TNS community at any time.

According to Fox News, tuition at The New School is $26,854 a semester or $51,900 per year.

50 Gs a year and the kids have taken over the school to demand everyone be given an A and that "the President's townhouse be treated as a communal property." 😂

What a time to be alive.
