This German brewery created a powdered beer and all you have to do is add water to enjoy it

Ladies and gentlemen, we're all homebrewers now!

Yes, any time you want, as long as you've got some water laying around, you can make your own instant beer with this brand new invention.

And you can drink it, too!

Neuzeller Klosterbräu, a German brewery that's been in the industry for almost 500 years, invented the powder which can make beer in the same way a person would make instant coffee or a protein shake.

By simply adding a couple of spoons of powder into a glass, adding water and giving it a stir, beer enthusiasts can make their favorite drink without having to open the fridge…

[General manager Stefan Fritsche] claims his product tastes "just like normal regular beer" and its appearance also looks similar to a typical carbonated beer as it foams up once mixed.

Man, you gotta love the Germans!

This beer is the first-ever in its class, since all the powdered beers of the past lacked carbonation.

Unfortunately, as of today, this beer only comes in non-alcoholic forms, though it looks like they're working on an alcoholic version. Here's a video:

Real quick hypothetical: Let's just say the instant beer fad does take off.

Check out how much time and energy will be saved.

The biblical-like creation is intended to help reduce the heavy carbon footprint beer exports generate, with one 355ml bottle equivalent to .8 miles of driving.

By removing the extra weight created by glass and water, the brewery's general manager Stefan Fritsche says the invention could reduce transport weight by 90 percent.

"It's useless transporting everything … so right now we can limit the taste of the beer to 45 grams instead of transporting 1kg," he told 7News.

45 grams is equal to 0.045 kilos, folks. So we're looking at an absolutely revolutionary invention right here.

One that will even make our liberal friends happy...

Boy, I hope it works!
