Two days after six people were stabbed to death in a Sydney mall, an Assyrian Orthodox priest in Sydney was stabbed repeatedly by a young man who approached him in the middle of a church service.
This should go without saying, but the video of the attack is extremely violent.

The priest and three rescuers were injured in the attack and received treatment for lacerations from paramedics, but thankfully none of the injuries are life threatening.
The priest, Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, is the leader of Christ The Good Shepherd Church in the Sydney suburb of Wakeley.
This video shows men from the congregation holding the attacker down as they converse in Arabic and English. It is assumed at this time that the attacker is Muslim.

The situation outside the church grew chaotic after police responded, with the Assyrian Orthodox community demanding the attacker be brought out to them.
A crowd also formed outside Liverpool Hospital, where the injured were taken, causing administrators to put the hospital "into lockdown."
Australia is still raw from a mass stabbing attack at a Sydney mall where an attacker killed six people and wounded 4 others, including a baby, before he was shot by police.
Contrary to some earlier reports, the attacker in the mall attack was not an immigrant or a Muslim, but a white native Australian with a history of mental illness. It is unknown at this time why he carried out the attack.
