You know what's better than winning the Master's? Winning the Master's for the glory of Christ.
That's the message that the world's top pro golfer, Scottie Scheffler, made clear after donning the green jacket yesterday, winning his second Master's golf tournament.
We told you, this is the guy you want to win and give the interviews in front of a national TV audience. Is there a better message possible for a man to share in front of millions?
I was a bit overwhelmed. I told [my buddies], 'I wish I didn't want to win... as badly as I do.' I think it would make the mornings easier. I love winning, I hate losing, I really do. And when you're here in the biggest moments, when I'm sitting here with a lead on Sunday, I really really wanna win badly.
And my buddies told me this morning my victory was secured on the cross. That's a pretty special feeling to know that I'm secure forever and it doesn't really matter if I win this tournament or lose this tournament, my identity is secure for forever.
A little bit of perspective can go a long way and take a lot of pressure off.
He knows that it's not about the game, God's got him and he is one of God's children forever. โ
