Elon Musk says he is ditching his traditional phone number, plans to do all calls and texting through X

He wanted to make X the "Everything App," and I guess he meant it.

Early this morning, or maybe late last night, Elon took to X to announce to his followers that he was going to forego his phone number completely and only do phone calls and texting through his app.

He's ditching his cell phone number, people!

You wanna call or text him, you HAVE to have X downloaded, I guess.

Elon Musk is betting big on transforming the struggling microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter into a profitable rival to China's WeChat which acts as a one-stop hub catering to users' daily needs.

For Musk's ambitious plan to succeed, X must become users' primary interface with the world. One tactic to achieve this aim involves persuading people to switch from traditional phone calls to communicating via X.

He's getting rid of his own phone's primary applications, calling and messaging, in favor of the calling and messaging available through the X app.

Musk is putting his money where his mouth is.

I wonder ... how many X users will also be willing to delete their telephone number and only use X?
