Father of Marine killed during Afghanistan withdrawal arrested after heckling Biden at State of the Union

Last night, Steve Nikoui, a guest of Florida congressman Brian Mast, was arrested and charged by Capitol Police after heckling Joe Biden during his address to the nation.

Nikoui shouted "Thirteen Marines!" and "Abbey Gate!" to remind President Biden of the thirteen Marines who died because of his disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

For this, he was arrested and charged.

Officers asked Nikoui to stop and when he did not, he was removed from the House Galleries. He was arrested for Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding. Causing a disruption to Congress in the Congressional Buildings is illegal, Capitol Police said. The charge is a misdemeanor.

While some are uncomfortable with all the heckling, arresting a Gold Star father at the State of the Union sends a pretty clear message to the American people.

I mean, honestly, are we going to pretend that this wouldn't be the #1 story in the nation if Trump arrested a gold star parent?

Throw him out? I can see it. Arrest him? That's insane.

After his brief stint as a political prisoner, Nikoui was freed and given a hero's welcome by fellow Gold Star families.

Some say Steve's righteous outburst was the only real highlight of the entire evening.

Even after this episode, I don't expect Biden to ever acknowledge Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, whose life was unnecessarily lost in Afghanistan.

Three years later and no one has been held accountable.

But until they are, I'm certain you'll keep hearing from Steve Nikoui.
