Tesla debuts its latest Optimus robot ... it looks like it's gonna be freaky realistic and I can't decide if I'm excited or scared outta my mind

Hard to believe it hasn't even been a hundred years since real, genuine computers became even remotely commonplace throughout the world. And now we have this:

The sci-fi nerd in me is excited and EXTREMELY TERRIFIED at the same time.

(We puttin' Asimov's 3 Laws into these these or nah?)

I mean, this is basically how my grandpa does squats at the gym. For a humanoid robot that's very impressive; it takes a mind-boggling amount of engineering to approximate human motion like this.

Bro is handling eggs like a sous chef.

And of course there's... this.

Um, great moves, Optimus! No judgment here.

Elon Musk said upon debuting the Optimus line several years ago that the bot would "eliminate dangerous, repetitive, boring tasks," and he has big plans for it:

"Those who are insightful or who listen carefully will understand that Optimus ultimately will be worth more than the car business and worth more than full self-driving. That's my firm belief."

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case โ€” even with the hokey dancing thrown in!
