This 21-year-old college kid took down a ten-term incumbent in the North Carolina House

Have you heard about this kid?

A junior at East Carolina set his sights a little higher than the student body president and decided to take on the 81-year-old (AP says 84), ten-term incumbent, North Carolina congressman in his district.

And he won.

Republicans ... pay attention.

I'm not saying older people in politics don't have a lot to offer. But young folks like Wyatt Gable might start giving them a run for their money soon.

When asked how he won, Gable said it was "just a lot of hard work."

"A lot of doors knocked, a lot of phone calls made, and just a lot of people that were helping me out, and I really appreciate it," he said.

Gable said he is "very confident" about winning the seat in November, given that the 14th District is a typically red district.

Gable is in a Republican district, so while he needs to continue his hard work and campaigning, his toughest battle before taking office may very well be behind him.

Sorry to the boomers. Gen X may have waited their turn, and so have millennials, but Gen Z looks like they aren't afraid to just take it from them.
