Speculation has abounded after this very bizarre story of a South Carolina pastor, John-Paul Miller who claimed his wife, Mica Miller, committed suicide.

He very awkwardly announced, at the end of the sermon last week, that his wife had died of self-inflicted injuries just the night before he preached.

Watch this clip from the sermon and the announcement of his wife's death at the end.

I got a call late last night, my wife has passed away. It was self-induced, it was in North Carolina ... I'm just kind of going on adrenaline right now. Y'all pray for me and my kids and everybody.

Y'all knew that she wasn't well mentally and that she needed medicine that was hard to get to her. I'm sure there will be more details to come, just keep our family in your prayers.

Yeah. That was awkward, to say the least.

Ever since this sermon, and the viral video of the announcement, people have been very skeptical of the pastor and his behavior during this sermon.

This sums up the skepticism of the pastor's story pretty well.

Now the family of Mica is asking the police to investigate.

A South Carolina pastor claimed his wife [died] of suicide Saturday — six months after she filed for divorce — as her family pleaded for police to 'deeply' investigate the sudden death.

Mica Miller, 30, was found to have suffered a fatal gunshot to the head at Lumber River State Park in Lumberton, NC, according to local newspaper the Robesonian ...

'This has to be at least looked into deeply. There's got to be some accountability here,' Kenn Young told WPDE. 'Because yeah, a tragic life was lost, and it's not just as simple as mental health issues.'

Mica Miller's death comes as the Robeson County Sheriff's Office opens an investigation into the April 27 shooting.

So the police are investigating.

The family is lobbying accusations at John-Paul, citing abuse and alleging that the pastor groomed her from the time she was a teen.

Mica Miller's sister Savannah shared on Facebook,

There is a lot of talk already going on so i [sic] want to set the record straight. Our sister Mica Miller passed away yesterday. Please do not listen to false stories being shared about her.Mica was a God-fearing, joyful, loving woman who did not deserve the abuse she endured. If you hear anything about this from anyone other than her family please question it, reach out to her siblings or parents. Keep our family in your prayers and if you have any information that needs to be shared please contact one of us. Please respect us in this time and honor her memory with joy that she is no longer suffering. #justiceformica

According to her obituary, Mica met her future husband when she was about 14 years old in 2009, and married him 8 years later in 2017.

Follow up is that John Paul Miller was married previously, but then he divorced his wife after allegedly being caught having an affair with Mica, whom he later married in later 2017.

Mica was 14 years old and attending youth group when she first met Miller, who is nearly 15 years her senior.

One of Mica's friends spoke out on Twitter in reply to the sermon clip above.

We'll update you on this one. Crazy stuff.
