I've got an uncharacteristic dose of white pills and encouragement for you today.

Our culture seems to be taken over with "deconstructers" who left the faith of their childhood and made public posts about it. The formula in this viral trend usually involves people talking about how "backward" and "abusive" [read: disciplined and moral] their family and community was.

Because our elite institutions, like the media and the academy, like the idea of a post-Christian world, they push these testimonies every chance they get. You might think everyone in the whole world is leaving Jesus behind.

Enter this post, which is very much a reality check:

Publishers will put out hundreds of books from people who have left Christianity behind after a faithful upbringing. But despite their loud voices, they aren't the majority. Not even close.

Growing up Baptist and going to VBS didn't hurt anyone.

There's no book because this is how normal, well-adjusted, salt-of-the-earth Christian men and women are raised. Nothing is extraordinary about this story. And that's the point - God uses the weak and mundane and insignificant things in the world's eyes to shame the things that the world considers #StunningAndBrave.

To channel Pastor Doug Wilson: Keep plodding.
