The Southern Baptist Church, a denomination that overwhelmingly voted for Trump, has come out to condemn Trump because deportations are mean!
Okay, I've got a simple question here, I hope someone can answer it.
Why do Southern Baptists have 13 separate ethnic groups? And is one of these groups white?
(You already know the answer to that.)
Leaders of 13 Southern Baptist ethnic groups have approved a joint statement on immigration seeking religious liberty protections, compassion without demonization and enforcement options including fines or other penalties in lieu of deportation.
Basically, these 16 leaders representing 13 separate Southern Baptist "ethnic enclaves" think that President Trump's deportations are mean and that he should enforce the law by ... not actually enforcing the law.
Now, you can check me on this, but something tells me these groups didn't write a similar letter to the Biden administration after his policies led to the murder of Laken Riley.
But when you end TPS for hundreds of thousands of Haitians who you just dumped into poor white areas like Springfield, Ohio, THAT gets the attention of these "conservative" Southern Baptists??

Signers of the statement said they share the 'federal government's desire to protect citizens, promote legal immigration and refugee policies, and robustly safeguard the country's borders.' But 'enforcement must be accompanied with compassion that doesn't demonize those fleeing oppression, violence, and persecution.' The statement was shared with Baptist Press by Bruno Molina, executive director of the National Hispanic Baptist Network and a signatory.
(Law enforcement accompanied with compassion is liberal code for not enforcing the law and for showing sinful favoritism to those they deem "marginalized," which usually mirrors Marxist ideas on intersecting classes of oppression.)
Haitian, Hispanic, African American, Chinese, Filipino, Nigerian, Liberian, Ghanaian, Korean, Burmese, Thai and Vietnamese leaders signed the statement, Molina told Baptist Press.
Victor Chayasirisobhon, another signatory and director of the Southern Baptist Convention Asian Collective representing all Asian fellowships in the SBC, said all groups in the collective approved the statement individually and collectively.
Yeah, just more of the fake "we care about borders" bull crud from liberals in the SBC who care more about bringing the whole world to the U.S. than they do about the millions of Americans suffering from open borders.
I'm sure you will be shocked to learn that Brent Leatherwood, the man who almost singlehandedly prevented the release of the Covenant Christian School tranifesto, also signed onto this statement.
As head of the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission, the lobbying arm of the SBC, Leatherwood apparently wants to make sure that the churchgoers tithes are working hard to oppose the work of the presidential administration for which they voted.

Brent Leatherwood, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, thanked the leaders for the statement.
'I am grateful these pastors and leaders have put into words the experiences that so many of our fellow Southern Baptist brothers and sisters are living through right now. The Administration's efforts to secure America's borders and cut illegal entry into our nation represents a serious attempt to restore order for a system that, for decades, has been overwhelmed,' Leatherwood told Baptist Press. 'Moreover, many of these moves are consistent with elements of a comprehensive approach to border security and immigration reform long called for by the Southern Baptist Convention.
'Yet, as these pastors have indicated, some of these actions and public statements are raising alarm and fear among those who are here legally.'
"Alarm" and "fear" created by enforcing the law that protects the safety and sovereignty of the people living in a particular nation?
I think those "scared" and "living in fear" of a just law need to familiarize themselves with a certain proverb.
'When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.' - Proverbs 21:15:
If you're scared of justice, it doesn't sound like you're on the side of the righteous.
But Leatherwood and crew probably think they're working for "global justice" or some such Marxist nonsense that ends in everyone being happy and equal and everyone magically becoming an American just because they wished it.
Take a bow, Southern Baptists. You may have voted for Trump's border policies based on the conviction of the Spirit, but your political activists are out here fighting tooth and nail against you.
