A 13-year-old boy in the United Kingdom was recently busted for pulling off his best Doogie Howser impression at a major hospital.
Kid showed up on January 19 at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital in scrubs, and even had a fake ID!
[I]t remains unclear what area of the hospital he gained access to and whether or not he had any interaction with patients or access to medical records.
The cops soon showed up and arrested him. Healthcare, it turns out, is not a human right if you're a teenager impersonating a doctor.
"Police were called at around 10.30am on Sunday, January 19, by Derriford Hospital security following reports from staff of a male impersonating a doctor at the hospital. Officers attended and arrested a 13-year-old boy," a representative for Devon and Cornwall Police said. "The boy was de-arrested and the matter has since been dealt with by way of words of advice and intervention/education work from the Child Centred Policing Team."
"De-arrested"?
Never heard that one before!
Glad he got some "words of advice" though!
To be fair, the National Health Service is incredibly ineficcient, so maybe child volunteer fake doctors are actually a solution here?
