Give this girl a raise!
This story out of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is the kind of Christmas miracle we all need to hear in these uncertain times.
15-year-old McDonald's worker Sydney Raley (15!) was going through a "mostly normal" day at work, "making coffee, making drinks."
"Going into the lunch rush, it was all normal," Raley said.
That's when Raley noticed a woman "coughing and gagging" in the passenger seat of a customer that received her order a moment ago.
"Her daughter was in the passenger seat and she looked so freaked out. I immediately knew, 'Oh, no, she's choking,'" she said.
Raley quickly told her manager to call 911 shortly before she "jumped through the drive-thru window to help the woman dislodge the nugget from her throat," Insider reports.
I'm wondering how she managed to jump through the drive-thru window with all that stupid plexiglass stuff in the way (but I digress).
"Two local police officers, who came to the scene after, described Raley as a hero and rewarded her with $100," Insider reports. "The owner of the McDonald's restaurant told CNN that he was 'incredibly lucky to have her as a highly-valued crew member.'"
So, next time you're in the McDonald's drive-thru, or about to chomp on a McNugget, think of Sydney -- a new, true American Hero.
