On this day in history, following the national sorrow of 9/11, the American rock band Creed performed the Thanksgiving Day Dallas Cowboys football halftime show. Lead singer Scott Stapp wore a Cowboys jersey while male acrobats flew on ribbons, Cowboys cheerleaders danced, and the band played the hit song Higher.

Can you take me higher? No. No, you cannot.

This is when the United States reached the peak of its existence.

Back when we used to have a proper country.
