Residents of Beaufort County, South Carolina, are being urged to lock their doors and windows as a group of 40 test monkeys have escaped from a bio-research laboratory.

Alpha Genesis Research in Yemassee works with the federal government and has a colony of 3,500 primates used for clinical research.

Dozens of these little anthropoids are on the loose. The movies all suggest that only two outcomes are possible from this situation.

Either way, the police issued the following warning:

Several primates have escaped from the Alpha Genesis facility on Castle Hall Rd.

If you see any of them, please DO NOT approach or attempt to interact with them; instead, contact 911 immediately!

Traps have been set up around the area, and the Yemassee Police Department is currently on-site utilizing thermal imaging cameras in an attempt to locate the animals.

Residents are strongly advised to keep doors and windows secured to prevent these animals from entering homes.

Heeding their warning is probably a good idea, not just because of all the cautionary tales in movies, but because the monkeys themselves are dangerous.

Just imagine waking up to discover a lot of crazed monkeys in your house - monkeys that have been experimented on by humans for the past few years.

Not good.
