Well this story really stinks. A skunk got onto the field at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's FNB Field during a Minor League Baseball game and apparently this isn't the first time it's happened this year.
Check it out:
So that's not a mascot or anything like that; it's a wild skunk, and the grounds crew is just following it, taunting it from 10-15 feet away โ well within the spray range โ like it's no big deal.
Look how close they are:
You'd never see me that close to one of those things. No way!
Okay, I told you this wasn't the first time this had happened in 2023, so here's your proof (story from back in May):
Twice, this has happened, both times when the Bowie Baysox were in town. So what is it about the Bowie Baysox that brings in the skunk? Do they just smell really bad and the skunk is attracted to them? That could be it. Is it the color of their uniforms? Either way, I find this strange.
Interesting addition to the story: FNB Field is on City Island, which sits in the middle of the Susquehanna River just west of downtown Harrisburg. Pretty cool place to watch a baseball game, I assume. As long as you like skunks.
