Oh. My. Goodness.
You guys, this is top-tier stuff right here. The people at Amazon are triggered on another level over Matt Walsh's children's book "Johnny the Walrus" and it's about as good as it gets.
So the book hit #1 on Amazon's LGBTQ+ best sellers list back in December, which is just glorious.
Here was Walsh's response to that:
(This is a book about a kid who thinks he's a walrus, in case you're not up to date on children's books that troll the "identifies as" crowd.)
Anyhow, "Johnny the Walrus" was finally released yesterday and this seems to have triggered all the lefties over at Amazon, cuz look at this: they held a virtual meeting to discuss the book and the impact it's having on LGBTQIA-ETC-ETC employees and customers.
Shout out to Libs of TikTok for getting this out:
Guys, you really have to give that a listen when you have time. I'll give you some quotes, but it's just not the same in writing, and I refuse to quote the customer review because it's the best part. I'm actually quite embarrassed for these people.
The man(?) leading the meeting starts:
It's been a very traumatic experience for transgender Amazonians and our transgender customers. What I don't want to come out of this is slamming the books team with a bunch of tickets; they're already aware of this [book].
I'm sorry, but did you say transgender Amazonians? As a descendant of South American transgender immigrants, I'm extremely offended by this!
Okay, sorry.
Moving on…
But 'Johnny the Walrus' is a bit of a problematic book. Not a bit, it is — it is not a bit of a problem. It's one hell of a problem.
You got that right, pal!
And that's kinda the point of a book like this.
It's all fun and games when you're reading books about crossdressing to kindergarteners. That's super cool, right? Grooming, I think they call it.
But when someone comes around with a book that slaps that kind of hogwash in the face it's "a problem"?
Got it.
More from these triggered crybabies:
The book made it to #1 best seller in LGBTQ books…It's bad faith. It's basically abuse of Amazon's systems and [Matt Walsh and other people like him]...are taking advantage of Amazon and how the Amazon algorithms work to promote their particular brand of hate and harm on the community.
Glorious!
Just absolutely glorious!
And they go on, and on, and on about this.
I'm not going to quote these people anymore because, as I said above, you really need to listen to all nine minutes of this in order to get the full experience.
Because it's beautiful!
And it looks like the right is finally starting to pull ahead in the culture war.
We'll see how far that gets us…
I'll leave you with this gorgeous video of Matt Walsh reading his famous LGBTQ children's book to a roomful of children.
How can you not love that book?
