ACTUAL Corporate Bravery: H&M Ends Relationship With Chinese Producers Over Forced Labor Concerns

Good for them!

The Swedish based clothing store H&M has announced that they will no longer do business with garment factories or source cotton from the Xinjiang region in China because of the reported use of slave labor involving ethnic and religious minorities. They have also ended a partnership with Huafu Fashion, a yarn producer in the same Chinese province.

Earlier this month Disney got into hot water with some for filming the new release, Mulan, in Xinjiang and THANKING the Chinese Communist Party for their cooperation in making the film.

Before that, the NBA, as well as Disney owned ESPN, were both criticized for their relationship with China and refusal to acknowledge the Human rights violations being perpetrated by China.

You'll remember back in July a disturbing video of Uighur Muslims with their heads shaved being forced to board trains went viral and called attention to the atrocities being committed in China.

Both of these giant corporations, the NBA and Disney, are turning a blind eye to Chinese forced labor.

It is rare to see actual corporate bravery in this day and age instead of just performative virtue signalling. So, again, kudos to H&M for actually doing something courageous and taking action when so many other bigger companies refuse to do so!
