American Idol finalist Caleb Kennedy has been cancelled for the unpardonable sin of being 12 and hanging out with friends with low-quality costumes.
First, here's the video that stirred up a flurry of controversy:
Looks pretty bad, right? Clearly, this proves the epidemic of white supremacy being practiced by youth across the nation!
There's only two problems with that narrative:
- First, since the video was of Kennedy at age 12 and he is currently 16, someone held onto this video for years. Whoever released this didn't care squat about the video until they could use it either for gain or some kind of retribution.
- Second, the video reportedly had nothing to do with the KKK:
"I hate this has happened and how Caleb is being portrayed by people online," said Kennedy's mom, Anita Guy. "This video was taken after Caleb had watched the movie 'The Strangers: Prey at Night' and they were imitating those characters. It had nothing to do with the Ku Klux Klan, but I know that's how it looks. Caleb doesn't have a racist bone in his body. He loves everyone and has friends of all races."
Here are the bad guys from said horror film. Notice what one is wearing over his head:
We now live in a world where an aspiring young musician – potentially an upcoming national star – is absolutely demolished for an out-of-context video taken in middle school.
Sadly, Kennedy apologized to the woke mob, which meant he was immediately devoured:
