Sweet Daddy Matt Walsh is making headlines and trending on Twitter because he and Harry Potter author JK Rowling had a mutually respectful conversation about transgenderism.

Or, if you're a lefty, "JK ROWLING IS LITERALLY KILLING TRANS PEOPLE BY TALKING TO MATT WALSH!!!"

This unlikely friendship started out with a typical Sweet Daddy tweet.

In response to the Left eating its own with Macy Gray's latest backtracking of her supposedly "anti-trans" (aka pro-reality) statement, Walsh simply said that it's not okay for someone to back down from the truth because people are mean.

What happened next is that, of all people, JK Rowling saw Walsh's statement and decided to chime in.

Rowling and Walsh are on the same side here. Rowling just wants Walsh to realize that it's more than "mean comments" that women like herself have to endure.

Fair enough.

This is where Walsh responds, wanting to smooth things over with the author.

Matt Walsh defends himself, defends his statement, and compliments Rowling's undeniable courage.

And Rowling respects him for it, even if she doesn't agree.
