Remember when Apple's whole schtick was being the cool kid who didn't sell your data?
Well…
Translation: Apple fell way behind and now it needs help to keep up with the chatbots.
Apple had previously partnered with OpenAI to try to bring its long-touted "Apple Intelligence" up to speed, but as anyone who has used Siri in the last 5 years can tell you, they done messed up.
(The director of Apple Intelligence stepped down in December and was replaced by an Indian guy from Microsoft.)
People are asking: What's the point in owning Apple products these days?
So instead of having an unusable AI service, Apple will give you the wokest, most left-wing AI service from the company that made its fortune by selling people's data.
(But they pinky promise to keep your data secure!)

Apple declined to comment on the terms of the deal. Google referred CNBC to the joint statement.
In August, Bloomberg reported that Apple was in early talks with Google to use a custom Gemini model to power a new iteration of Siri. The news outlet later reported that Apple was planning to pay about $1 billion a year to utilize Google AI.
