It's sweet that this Arizona dad is trying to protect his kids from his school board's new dress code, but I wonder if he's been paying attention at all.
Ira Latham, a father of four Higley Unified School District students, showed up to protest his school board's new dress code, which would only restrict students showing their underwear.
His protest involved awkwardly modeling what students could end up wearing to school.
Twenty years ago that might have made an impact.
But these days school boards are letting things like this happen at pep rallies.
While I'm somewhat happy to know there are still innocent parents out there like Latham (who think spaghetti straps and short shorts are shocking), I'm dismayed to know there are parents out there like him, who are not aware of how bad things are getting in schools.
Not surprisingly, the school board was completely unfazed by Latham's outfit and voted 3-2 in favor of the new dress code.
One of the opposing school board members, Anna Van Hoek, left the meeting with a zinger.
"The fact that we have adults advocating for children to have less clothing on is absurd to me," she said.
That is more than absurd.
Downright evil, if you ask me.
Protect your kids, folks!
