Regardless of where you stand on the "stop the steal" and "rigged election" claims of 2020, you have to admit that the Democrat's obsession with calling these people "election deniers" and trying to shut them down is dangerous.
Arizona's GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has thoughts about this issue, and it's honestly the best answer I've seen to this question about election integrity and doubting the 2020 results.
Questioning an election where there were obviously problems is dividing the country? Since when can we not ask questions about our elections?
This is a good start. It's okay to ask questions. Unfortunately, it's okay to have doubts about the system.
Lake goes on to highlight how, for decades now, Democrats have ALWAYS questioned the results of elections without being de-platformed or called election deniers.
Lake goes after the hypocrisy that, after years of Democrat carping, the media is going after HER.
After 2016 I distinctly remember people just like you asking a lot of questions about the 2016 election results. And nobody tried to shut you up.
Nobody tried to tell Hillary Clinton to shut up. Nobody tried to tell Kamala Harris when she was questioning the legitimacy of these electronic voting machines to stop.
After going after the democrats, Lake then brings it home with a reminder about our rights as Americans.
We have freedom of speech in this country. You, of all people, should appreciate that. You're supposedly a journalist. You should appreciate that. So I don't see how asking questions about an election where there were many problems is dividing the country.
What I do see dividing a country is shutting people down, censoring people, canceling people, trying to destroy people's lives when they do ask questions.
She absolutely smacked this reporter down.
And she is 100% correct.
It's much more divisive to insist that an election unlike any in history is completely perfect and no issues could ever happen and then shut down any questioning voices with extreme prejudice.
If the election is the safest and most secure ever why are you trying to stop the questions and investigating?
Lake has her finger on the pulse and is the type of politician Republicans need to put in power.
