This is just so strange. I saw this video on the internet this morning and thought it was just a random old fake-ish clip I'd missed way back when.
No, it was from yesterday. And yes, that is a gun.
This 64-year-old woman was sitting in a lawn chair on the southbound side of I-45 in Houston near Cypresswood Drive holding onto a gun. She'd intentionally crashed into an 18-wheeler around 1:30 and then set up her seat on the road.
Law enforcement was on the scene shortly.
The standoff with police lasted a full five hours. This woman has some serious mental health issues, and fortunately she would put the gun down and surrender to police. No one seems to have been injured in the ordeal.
Once she was safe and off the freeway, this scene was captured.
I love this quote from Harris County Sheriff's Office:
From KHOU 11:
'The good thing is, someone's mother, grandmother is coming home tonight,' HCSO Major Cedrick Collier said. 'Maybe not tonight, but she's not injured, she's not dead. We didn't have to use force to take her into custody. She can get the help she needs, and that's great. That's a win.'

Glad our lady made it out of there alive, and I hope she is receiving the best treatment possible at the hospital she was sent to for help.
