When Elon bought Twitter, he tweaked the algorithm so you'll see more things you routinely engage with, even if it's content you hate.
Babylon Bee Managing Editor Joel Berry decided to have a little fun with it.
It all started with this thread:
Joel B. might not be a Joel A., but he has a good point here.
What politicians mean for evil (importing mass numbers of easily-manipulated people to cement their voting block and cheap labor goals), God will work for good. Those who came before us could have never seen the world as it is today. The leftists who rage against the patriarchal European colonizers are blind to the fact that the bickering of kingdoms over gold, spices, and rum from the 16th to the 20th centuries would ultimately pave the way for the global recognition of human rights, unfettered technological advancement, and human mass flourishing that the old aristocracy couldn't have even dreamed.
Whether it was the rise and fall of the Egyptian kingdom, the Roman Empire, or the invasion of the Mongol horde, there have been many mass migration events and civilizational collapses that seem chaotic to those living through them.
Yet in the end, good wins. What is built from the ashes is even stronger than what came before. A little yeast works its way through the entire dough.
But a lot of people on the actual "alt-right" got angry with Joel:
One of the problems on the Right is an over-emphasis on saving Western Civilization.
Don't get me wrong: Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it, and the best way to destroy a people's identity is to make them forget their history.
We should be committed to teaching our kids about European history, but not because the Europeans themselves were somehow inherently great. It was only by the grace of God that Europe became the main battleground where the Gospel took root. The civilization that emerged following the Dark Ages was one built on a Christian understanding of grace, forgiveness, family, responsibility, rights, governance, and destiny. This is the only reason that Western Civilization has been able to achieve the heights it has, unlike every single empire or civilization that collapsed before it. People today forget this, then forget that in Christ, "there is neither Jew nor Gentile."
Unfortunately, there are many out there who want to cling to Bach, Locke, Newton, Da Vinci, and Copernicus without the foundation of Christ that undergirded the entire European experiment. They want to puff up their pride in their own heritage as a way of feeling superior to those that act like barbarians in our own day.
To that end, Joel B. decided to ruffle some feathers:
Look at how viral this went:
But there's more:
Is The Bee actually stumping for forced interracial marriage?
You're an intelligent person, so I'll let you work out whether the masters of satire and hyperbole want to breed white people out of existence.
The point is that skin color doesn't matter.
The melanin encoded in your DNA is merely a microadaptation that allows individuals to survive in lower- or higher-UV radiation environments. That's it.
And regardless of your ethnicity, we are all of equal worth in God's eyes. George Washington and Charlemagne are no more valuable to Him than the poorest boy in Sudan. In fact, the Bible says that God chooses the lowly and despised things of this world to shame the strong, so that no one may boast before Him. This is why Africa now has more Christians than any other continent. It's why the Chinese communists are going to lose to Christ. It's why there are mass baptisms happening in Iran. The legacy of Aristotle and Shakespeare and Jefferson are worth preserving, but at the end of the day, the true legacy of Europe that matters are the billions of souls that will be saved thanks to the men and women who sailed to the corners of the earth to preach the Gospel.
If you're stumping for saving an America built on European culture from 500 years ago, you are going to lose. All kingdoms of this world will fall, my friends.
