Since Russia invaded Ukraine, the United States has sent $113 billion in aid to Zelensky. At at this point, there is no end in sight to the conflict.
$46.6 billion of that U.S. aid has been in the form of military equipment, and Putin has to be looking at Zelensky the same way the Joker looked at Batman when the caped crusader kept thwarting his plans with those wonderful toys.
Just take a look at what you've bought the Ukrainians with your tax dollars:
How generous of you.
The rest of the $113 billion has gone for security, humanitarian, economic, and governance assistance in the form of CASH MONEY.
There have been quite a few reports of that aid not quite making it to its intended recipients...
However, Samantha Power, the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), officially cleared Ukraine of any misappropriation of the aid that was sent.
She told a CNN townhall:
"Up until this point, we don't have any evidence that U.S. assistance is being misused or misspent but, again, the key is not resting on anybody's goodwill or virtue."
Of course no one from CNN followed up with the recent news out of Ukraine of a government shake down over accusations of corruption in misappropriating funds.
Republicans in the House are calling for more oversight on the aid being sent to Ukraine, but without the Senate or the Executive branch being on board, my guess is that we'll keep printing money to send to Ukraine until Zelensky is president of Russia too.
