Folks, this is Joe Biden doing his best during an interview with Black Entertainment Television:

And so, it's all about — it's all about treating people with dignity. And it's about making sure that we're coming — for example, look at the heat I'm getting because I named, a, uh, the, uh, secretary of defense, the black man — I named Ketanji Brown, I mean, because of the people I've named.

THIS IS HIS OWN SECRETARY OF DEFENSE!!!

HIS NAME IS LLOYD AUSTIN!!

The interview actually got more cringeworthy than that, if you can believe it:

I have a tradition. I close every campaign, no matter what campaign, going into the Projects and rolling out to the East Side.

'Hey, Joe, how you doing?'

Y'know, wehr wehr (?). Well, just because they're my friends, let 'em know I'm still there. We can't do that now. Not because of the black community, because it's too dangerous for me to be out walking unaccompanied.

If it wasn't the result of his rapid and horrifying decline, I'd have a lot of respect for Joe Biden for using the word "projects" while talking to a black television network amid a major presidential campaign.
