Biden has always enjoyed a kind of old-timey respect from much of America, given his long history in the Senate, his folksy, almost gawkish demeanor, and his reputation for grimly riding the miserable Amtrak lines to work long after lesser men would have fled such terrible modes of transportation.
But that was before he was president:
President Biden's approval rating in a key average of major polls dropped below 40 percent this week, the first time that had happened since he took office.
The Real Clear Politics average of all recent national surveys found Wednesday that 39.8 percent of Americans approved of Biden's performance in office, while 54.4 percent disapproved.
The president's average approval rating ticked back up to an even 40 percent Thursday, with an average of 53.8 percent of respondents disapproving.
Ahh, so he was just there and gone, like Constantine spending a couple of harrowing minutes in hell before being revived:
Still, it's got to have given the poor fellow a serious fright. What do you think the administration is going to do to try and curb those numbers (other than how polls often skew left anyway)?
Rolling back even more COVID restrictions?
Another round of big-dollar stimulus?
Another airstrike on some random ISIS dude that kills a bunch of women and seven-year-olds?
Whatever it is, it's sure to be a doozy!
