In a hearing on Thursday, Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona was asked about who he believes are the primary stakeholders in the education of a child.
Watch as Cardona squirms when asked point-blank whether or not parents are the PRIMARY stakeholders when it comes to the education of their children.
And here is footage from earlier in the day as Cardona prepared to go before congress.
I mean, what an absolute clown.
These lefties are coming right out and admitting that they are not as concerned with what parents believe kids should be taught as they are in promoting their own agenda.
Question: "Do you think parents should be in charge of their child's education as the primary stakeholder?"
Cardona: "I believe parents are important stakeholders, but I also believe educators have a role in determining educational programming."
I think Cardona just got a little too honest for his own good.
Teachers unions and government bureaucrats definitely have parents way down the totem pole when it comes to who needs to be considered when making educational decisions.
The government increasingly believes that parents shouldn't concern themselves so much with what children are taught. We saw this earlier this week in the Virginia gubernatorial debate:
In today's hearing, the congressman interjects to make sure it's clear that he's asking about the primary stakeholders, and that the wishy-washy answer of "well, that's one thing to consider" and other nuanced political speak would not suffice for an answer.
Times have changed. It's not about parents and families any more. It's not about what's best for the kid, either.
Schools today are teaching the 1619 Project, transgenderism, all sorts of sexual deviancies, and critical theory. Unions and governments have prevented schools from opening for no scientific reason during the pandemic. They let boys use girls' bathrooms and locker rooms.
They're doing it openly. We've seen it hundreds of times. It's 100% political. It's all about control.
Remember, no person in Washington cares more about your kids than you do. They don't know their names, likes and dislikes, or their interests.
It's a one-size-fits-all program, and they don't care about your kids.
They care about power.
