Update:

A person of interest has been identified and a manhunt is underway. Police are searching for a Joseph A. Couch. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The highway has now reopened.

5 victims have been confirmed shot, all are reported to be in stable condition.

An active shooter situation has been ongoing in Kentucky as someone has been firing into traffic from the woods with a sniper rifle.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office has confirmed multiple people have been shot.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 11 Media Contact Les Dixon said I-75 along with KY 909 and U.S. 25 in Laurel County are currently shut down.

I-75 is closed from exit 41 to exit 59.

The only thing we know right now is that it has been confirmed that multiple people have been shot. However, the number and extent of injuries has not been confirmed.

The shooter is still on the loose. We will update you in this story if anything new breaks.
