Crazy British religious leader sews his own lips shut to protest Rupert Murdoch's "denial of climate emergency" lol 🤐

The best prophets tend to make themselves the sermon illustration.

Reverend Tim Hewes, 71, from Oxfordshire, England, sewed his lips shut on Monday to protest "Rupert Murdoch and his denial of the climate emergency."

"I'm sewing up my lips to demonstrate the terrible and violent havoc Murdoch's actions have reaped upon the world and to symbolically make visible this truth," Hewes said in a Christian Climate Action (CCA) press release.

Hewes' protest took place outside the News Corp. U.K. offices. Murdoch is the executive chairman of News Corp.

"Today there are countless people throughout the world who are voiceless and suffering because of the climate emergency," Hewes said. "Climate science and truth has been muted and those who suffer are not being heard. I have tried everything other way I can think of to end the influences and madness represented by Rupert Murdoch and his denial of the climate emergency."

After two hours, Hewes finally removed the stitches on his lips. 😅

Hewes also held up signs that said "Murdoch muted climate science," "Murdoch to the dock for ecocide and the Murdoch legacy," "The 6th Mass Extinction on planet earth," and "Murdoch - the most destructive man in the history of the planet?"

I must admit that's the first time I've read the word ecocide, in my life. As hysteria-driven as it is, I do appreciate some good wordplay. Well done, chap.

He also said this:

"The earth is dying, species are dying, island states, livelihoods and cultures are dying, the coral reefs are dying. We are crossing the global climate system tipping points, and are on the brink of runaway heating, mass migration, immense suffering, and destruction. It fills me with grief that we are continuing as normal as everything precious is dying around us."

Uuuhhhh...

This isn't the first time Hewes protests alleged "denial" of "climate science."

In March, Hewes and fellow CCA member Ben Buse were thrown in jail for contempt of court after gluing themselves to court furniture.

"Police are being instructed to crack down on lawful protest and the courts instructed to ignore the fact that our world is on fire," Hewes said. "Meanwhile, law-abiding citizens are criminalized for justified and legal protest—as the only way remaining to draw attention to the impending catastrophe."

So, did Hewes think he had no choice but to sew his lips together because he has already tried "everything" else?

LOL C'MON BRO 🤣

Maybe next time he could leave the stitches in for a longer period of time.
