Do you understand how far gone the UK is?
Joey Barton is a former professional soccer player for Manchester City. Last month, we reported that a jury had found him guilty for saying mean words about two female sports commentators.
No, really, for saying mean words!
Here are the grave crimes of Barton:
In January 2024, he said that the two women were murdering soccer by comparing them to two serial killers, then photoshopping their faces onto a picture of the serial killers.
He then said one of the women, Eni Aluko, was like Joseph Stalin and Pol Pot because she had "murdered hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of football fans' ears."
In his greatest sin, he said Aluko (who is Nigerian) is "Only there to tick boxes," then followed that up with: DEI is a load of s***. Affirmative action. All off the back of the BLM/George Floyd nonsense."
Barton is known as a fireball. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail in 2008 for participating in a brawl in the middle of Liverpool, but he only served 74 days of the sentence. He was also given a 4-month sentence for fighting a teammate in 2007, which ended his career with Man City.
Calling someone an unqualified diversity hire who got the job because of the "George Floyd nonsense," or saying someone is so bad at their job that they are "murdering fans' ears" is now worthy of an equal sentence to assault and brawling.

Fortunately for Barton, the judge suspended his sentence for 18 months (meaning he will be automatically sent to jail if he posts thoughtcrime in that time). He must also pay over £20,000 in court costs, complete 200 hours of community service, and follow a two-year restraining order that bars him from publicly mentioning his "victims."
Before his sentence, Barton had literally packed his bags for jail and seemed worried about saying anything when asked about free speech.
Brits are increasingly being arrested for saying "hurty words" on the internet, sometimes with years in jail. 👇
At the same time that the government is throwing thousands of people in jail for thoughtcrime about migration, Islam, transgenderism, or LGBT sexuality, it is also planning to do away with trial by jury in many of said thoughtcrime charges.
About the only thing the police haven't been able to get away with is arresting people for praying silently in their heads.
Yet.
