Bro, this lady got arrested for teaching second grade while drunk, but when all was said and done there was nothing to actually charge her with so the law let her off the hook.
Yes, it's completely legal to drink and teach in California!
Ms. Munson's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, which means she must've been drinking the hard stuff, probably in her coffee.
And for those of you wondering, Ms. Munson is no longer listed as a staff member on the school's webpage, so we'll assume she's been let go.
Wendy Munson's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when she was nabbed midway through teaching students at Nuestro Elementary School, north of Sacramento, last October.
But after months of probing the incident, the Sutter County District Attorney's Office finally revealed Monday that it hasn't found any charges that'll stick โฆ
A coworker was suspicious that Wendy was drunk as a skunk on October 2nd, so the school called the police and hauled her away at 8:30 in the morning.
Munson later failed a sobriety test and her blood-alcohol level was still twice the legal limit some two hours after her arrest, the sheriff's office said at the time.
She was subsequently charged with drunk driving, drunk driving with a BAC of 0.08% or higher, and child abuse with the possibility of great bodily injury.
The DA released this statement:
I gotta show you the news clip so you can hear the DA.
Yes, technically Ms. Munson might not have driven to school drunk, and technically she wasn't putting students in danger. She was, however, pretty wasted while teaching those second graders. And now we know that that is completely legal.
Man, America is just the best, isn't it?
Sure, Ms. Munson might have gotten fired, but boy does she live in the freest country on Earth!
PS, don't drink and teach. I'm just goofing around and having fun here.
