California high school ends contract with on-campus Planned Parenthood facility after parent pushback ✊

After three years of fighting back, parents in the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District (NLMUSD) in the Los Angeles area have successfully fought back against an on-campus "Wellbeing Center" backed by Planned Parenthood and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

The school district recently announced that they would not be renewing their contract with Planned Parenthood.

MassResistance, the activist group that was heavily involved in organizing against the center in school board meetings said of the Wellbeing Centers,

They were staffed by people trained by Planned Parenthood. Students were given access to a range of birth control (by so-called 'trusted adults'), and referred to abortion providers and transgender sex-change clinics. There was 'mental health' counseling by people with questionable credentials - including by students who were recruited and paid to 'counsel' other students. Parental consent was not required for any of this.

So while the high school campus clinic itself wasn't actually performing all of the myriad of services Planned Parenthood provides they were referring students to the actual Planned Parenthood clinics that could.

In California, the law allows minors to undergo abortions without parental consent, and the on-campus clinic was reportedly referring students to outside clinics where abortions and "gender-affirming care" could be obtained without parental notification or consent.

According to Live Action, the medical records from the clinic were not accessible to parents as Planned Parenthood maintained them.

When parents found out that Planned Parenthood was behind the high school clinic, they began to protest, speak out at school board meetings and even gain the support of several local churches.

Earlier this month, MassResistance reported that,

In mid-June, the Principal of John Glenn High School sent an email to the staff that the Wellbeing Center agreement would not be renewed.

....

On June 30 it officially expired. School officials have privately admitted they had no interest in continuing this fight.

The organization credits the local community, especially the parents, for not giving up.

You love to see it.
