Taking a victory lap can be a very necessary step when it comes to hitting your life goals. Taking a victory lap while drinking a beer and then speeding past police 20 minutes after passing your driver's test? Well, let's just say I wouldn't recommend that.
You guys, you should never drink and drive — you could spill your beer that way. Luckily for this guy, that didn't happen. But here's what did.
A 25-year-old Canadian man had his driver's license a measly 20 minutes before he was pulled over by police, who caught him drinking a beer in "celebration" of passing his driver's test.
The Brampton man had just gotten his G2 license — the second-level permit drivers in Canada receive before getting a full Class G license — when the Ontario Provincial Police caught him weaving in and out of traffic and speeding down a highway …
The driver "flew past an unmarked police vehicle," [an officer] said.
According to police, the car was operating about 30 mph over the speed limit.
Police also said the driver was weaving in and out of traffic in a "careless manner" before he was pulled over.
And when police pulled him over they found he had an open beer with him and he was "celebrating" getting his permit.
After all was said and done, the driver was charged with stunt driving — never heard of that, though it sounds cool — careless driving, novice driver with blood alcohol above zero, driving with open liquor, and a bunch of other offenses. His license has been suspended for 30 days.
Don't be dumb, kids!
