Canterbury Cathedral, the most historic church in England and one of the most historic on earth, held a silent-disco rave over the weekend

Welp, in case you were wondering about the current health of the Church of England, look no further than what is going on at one of the oldest and THE most historic church in England.

Fantastic atmosphere at the rave last night, looking forward to more raves!

I mean, have they read their own description?

Mother Church of the worldwide Anglican Communion, seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury & World Heritage Site.

This is how little the Church of England thinks, first of its own history and, much more importantly, the sacredness of the church.

Christians were martyred in that building! I don't think the Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket before he was assassinated in this church in 1170 thought that one day the place where he served and was buried would be turned into a 1990s-themed silent disco dance floor.

It's a house of God, for goodness' sake.

I know, we protestants think the church is not just a building, and that the building isn't important. But do we really think that this is the type of thing an historic church should be renting out their cathedral for?

Needless to say, there were prayer vigils outside the church and brutal comments on the Twitter account.

England and the entire Anglican Church should be embarrassed.
