Yo, I know rap music is dead (has been for a long time) but what the shizzle is this?
A virtual rapper?!?!
Yup, here he is, FN Meka:
That dude, right there, has 10 million followers on TikTok.
Here's a link to his page; some very interesting videos there.
And here's FN Meka dancing to one of his singles, "Moonwalkin'," which you can listen to here.

Alright, what's Meka all about though?
By the way, it's cool if I call him Meka, he's just a robot you know.
"Technically speaking FN Meka is voiced by a human. But everything else about him – from his lyrics to the chords and tempo underpinning his music – is based on AI…"
In an interview with MBW last year, [Anthony Martini, co-founder of the ‘virtual' record label that first ‘signed' FN Meka] told us that the company "developed proprietary AI technology that analyzes certain popular songs of a specified genre and generates recommendations for the various elements of song construction: lyrical content, chords, melody, tempo, sounds, etc. We then combine these elements to create the song".
He added: "As of now, a human voice performs the vocals, but we are working towards the ability to have a computer come up with and perform its own words – and even collaborate with other computers as ‘co-writers'."
So now Capitol Records, one of the most recognized record labels in the world, has signed this AI emcee.
He's just been ‘signed' by one of the most powerful record companies in the world: Capitol Records / Capitol Music Group.
Capitol claims that FN Meka, who has over a billion views on TikTok, is the No.1 "virtual being" on the video platform, as well as the world's "first AR artist" to sign with a major label.
His debut major label single, Florida Water – a collaboration with Billboard chart-topper Gunna and professional Fortnite player Clix – is out today (Friday, August 12).
It was produced by Turbo (Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Baby) and executive produced by DJ Holiday (Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj).
Here's that new video.

Not sure which part of that song is Meka, but it's a pretty...neat...song, I guess.
Alright, well good luck figuring out what all of this means.
I'm sure the future of music is in good hands, then.
Right?
