What in the heck?

This is insane.

And it's happening in big cities everywhere.

I've been told though it would probably be "inequitable" to tell criminals that they can't get their Halloween candy fix with a five-finger discount. These cities are "food deserts" after all, so they're probably just getting some quality nutrition.

Between inflation and the decriminalization of petty theft, I'd say we're doing a pretty good job of ensuring all businesses tank and our kids grow up in a third-world nation.
