Dog owner Fran Dickson of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, was in for a surprise after her pup, Murph, had to get a closer shave than usual at the dog groomers.

When she brought him home that night, he put his front legs up on a footstool and she noticed a unique spot pattern on his chest which strangely looked just like Murph himself.

Dickson said she burst out laughing when she saw the spots that make up the perfect cartoon Murph tattoo!

She posted the picture of Murph on Facebook, where it received over a thousand comments, with several commenters pointing out the remarkable similarity between Murph's spots and Tintin's dog, Snowy. I must say they have a point.

But whether the spots are more of a self-portrait or a tattoo of an old-school cartoon, the fact remains that Murph is one special dog.

His owners should really consider keeping his fur closely shaved at all times. They just can't let a masterpiece like that get covered up!
