Church Of Satan Distances Itself From Sam Smith's Grammys Performance

What a time to be alive.

The satanists aren't distancing themselves for moral reasons, but they're still distancing themselves from the whole thing by downplaying and disassociating themselves from it!

In an interview with TMZ, David Harris, a magister of the Church of Satan, said he thought Smith and Petras' performance was "all right" and "nothing particularly special." In the performance, Smith sported a red leather outfit with horns sprouting from a top hat, while Petras danced in a cage surrounded by fire and backup dancers dressed as devils.

It apparently wasn't bloody or graphic enough for the Satan club.

The reality is that most satanists aren't the literal-demon-worshipping neo-pagans who are into witchcraft and the occult.

The idea of Western satanism is that you reject all morality and supernatural authority and declare yourself a god. It is essentially atheism and narcissist angst wedded together with clever marketing that's meant to provoke people.

Satanist-Supreme Harris actually told TMZ that Lil Nas X's song "Montero" โ€“ where the gay singer descends into hell to murder the devil and steal his crown โ€“ is actually more in line with satanists' beliefs.

The actual Satan, that ancient serpent and deceiver of men, was unavailable for comment at time of publishing.
