Sen. Ted Cruz trolls Biden's inauguration with epic mask

Sen. Ted Cruz wore a mask to Biden's inauguration that directly challenged the anti-liberty policies about to be handed down from on high over the next four years.

Cruz's mask featured the phrase "Come and Take It," first uttered by King Leonidas of Sparta at the Battle of Thermopylae. Persian King Xerxes I had a massive force of over 100,000 soldiers. In comparison, a small Greek army of 7,000 stood at a small pass between the mountains and the Mediterranean to prevent the vast army from invading their lands.

Xerxes offered the Greek soldiers their freedom and the promise of better, richer lands if they would let his army pass.

King Leonidas refused. An emissary then ordered them to lay down their weapons.

In response, Leonidas said "Molon labe," or "Come and take them."

In the Revolutionary War, the phrase was used by Colonel John McIntosh at Fort Morris on the Georgia coast. Outnumbered by British forces advancing against the fort on November 25, 1778, McIntosh sent this written reply to British Colonel Fuser when the latter demanded his surrender:

"As to surrendering the fort, receive this laconic reply: COME AND TAKE IT!"

In 1835, the phrase was used again by Texans in the town of Gonzales when Mexican General Santa Anna marched against them and ordered them to surrender the cannon they used to defend the town. Two months later, the infamous Battle of the Alamo was fought.

It was after this defiant stand that Cruz patterned his mask.

Of course, Biden is a generous god-king.

Sure, he may be preparing the most extensive list of anti-2nd Amendment orders and legislation in American history, but he wants you to know that it's all for your benefit. Remember, if history teaches us anything, it's that governments naturally want to protect the rights of their citizens to defy orders said citizens deem tyrannical!

To this and other assaults on liberty in the pipeline, Cruz had only one response: come and take it.
