Cheese Alert! The following story is very cheesy. It has all the markings of a Hallmark Christmas movie. But it's also true. So there's that ...
News out of the UK reports that a Bridport Dorset couple just got married and are taking each other's uniquely complementary last names.
Kieran White and Tilly Christmas had been dating since high school and never really noticed how well their names complemented each other's until a friend posted a pic of them from a high school dance.
"We didn't actually twig what our last names would be when we got together until a friend shared a photo of us from prom with the hashtag #WhiteChristmas," said Tilly.
(Apparently "twig" means to "catch on to something" in British slang. Who knew?! NTB is nothing, if not educational.)
"I wanted to keep the surname Christmas for a few reasons — I've always loved having it as a last name throughout my life and I really love Christmas time as well. It just so happens the man I've married has the perfect surname to go with it."
One can only speculate how Kieran might have popped the question.
Life with you is like an eternal holiday, so I've been dreaming of a White-Christmas union. Will yule be my wife? I'm mean seriously, will you merry me?
Truly touching and romantic. But seriously ...
