Cop arrested for killing woman in her own home because she grabbed boiling water from her stove

When you call the cops because you think someone has broken into your house, make sure you don't have any water boiling on the stove, because it could get you killed.

Sonya Massey of Springfield, IL, called the police on July 6 because she thought someone was prowling around near her house. Massey is a paranoid schizophrenic, so it's likely that the prowler didn't exist, though we'll never know.

When police arrived at Massey's home, they cleared the area, knocked on her door, came inside, and spoke with her for about four minutes before noticing a boiling pot of water on the stove. What happened next was beyond all comprehension.

Watch:

[Warning: Extreme violence, Strong language]

That's deputy Sean Grayson, and that is 100% NOT how you police!

You just leave the premises; that's what you do. You don't go and shoot someone dead in THEIR HOME.

Massey asked why the officers were backing up, to which they responded: ‘Away from your hot steaming water.'

Massey appeared to threaten to throw the water on the officers which is when they pulled out their guns.

‘I'm sorry, I'm sorry,' Massey said as she quickly apologized.

Grayson, who later said he thought she was going to throw the water at him, then shot her three times, one hitting her under the eye which exited out her neck.

Bro, you thought she was threatening your life with a pot of boiling water??

Shame on you!

Some justice here at least, though it won't bring Sonya back to life:

Grayson, 30, was indicted by a grand jury last week on three counts of first-degree murder and one count each of aggravated battery with a firearm and official misconduct. He has entered a not guilty plea and was denied pretrial release, according to court records.

Terrible. Just absolutely terrible.
