Dallas's public airport added this creepy security robot to keep watch over everyone and they gave it a voice that sounds just like ... well, you be the judge

This whole thing is already pretty weird:

Yes, those 7-foot-tall machines at Dallas Love Field are watching you. They want to make sure you're wearing a mask if you're boarding a flight or not parking too long at the curb if you're picking up a returning traveler.

Love Field is testing out two Security Control Observation Towers at the airport, one near baggage claim and another near security checkpoints, to figure out whether robotic assistants can both help customers get around and warn passengers who are breaking rules. The robots can also notify law enforcement of potential crimes.

I mean it's kind of creepy being policed by a robot. We all know it.

But this...this is another layer of oddness altogether. Give it a listen:

Not exactly the voiceover you were expecting, was it?

I mean...I'm not even trying to touch on any claim that there's some sort of agenda going on here (though there probably is). It's just, you know—not the sort of thing I was expecting to hear issuing from a quasi-dystopian prototype RoboCop.

Maybe, like, a robot barista or something.

Anyway be sure not to loiter at Dallas Love Field anymore!
