Trespass is apparently no longer a crime!
Yep, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam of Virginia says Homeland Security is being mean when they arrest people who trespassed into a foreign country for their own personal advantage.
Other than break the law, those people did nothing wrong!
Subramanyam had the viral moment during a town hall on Monday where he was asked about his vote for the Republican-sponsored Laken Riley Act. He talked about the need for legal guardrails where Americans can "have the conversation" about whether an illegal should be detained if they commit a crime like murder, and contrasting that to nabbing them on the streets for merely breaking U.S. border law.
Anyway, I'm glad the congressman has his priorities in order.
