There's been a lot of attention about some fake robocalls featuring Joe Biden telling New Hampshire residents not to show up and vote in the primaries because it would preclude them from voting in the general election.

An event hailed as an attack on democracy itself.

The media all reported that two Texas companies were identified as being the source of the calls: Life Corporation and Lingo Telecom. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued cease-and-desist letters to both companies.

In a statement, the FCC said it was trying to stop 'behavior that violates voter suppression laws.'

That has to be the Republicans, right?

However, Paul Carpenter, a magician in New Orleans, says he's the one who created the calls, and he provided the receipts to prove he was hired by a Democrat consultant to do it via text messages and Venmo transactions.

'I created the audio used in the robocall. I did not distribute it,' Carpenter said in an interview in New Orleans, where he is currently residing. 'I was in a situation where someone offered me some money to do something, and I did it. There was no malicious intent. I didn't know how it was going to be distributed.'

The Democrat consultant was a man named Steven Kramer, who according to Carpenter's records, paid the magician $150 to make the AI impersonations.

Steven Kramer is a consultant for Democrat Dean Phillips's presidential campaign.

Phillips is a Democratic congressman from Minnesota, and he is challenging Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination, and he came in second in the New Hampshire primary with 20% of the vote.

Phillips says he was unaware of Kramer's activities and has cut ties with the consultant.

And now Phillips has also announced that he's open to running on a unity ticket with Nikki Haley, which says more about Haley than Phillips.

Will the Biden administration stand for such a blatant betrayal both with the robocall and willingness to reach out to the other side?

Or is Phillips heading for a deep state gulag?
